Barney on the Mend — Under Watchful Care

A little setback for Barney, our loyal sport pony, who was found injured in the paddock a few days ago.

A little setback for Barney, our loyal sport pony, who was found injured in the paddock a few days ago.

It’s hard to tell exactly what happened — a misstep, a slip, maybe just a bit too much enthusiasm — but the main thing is that the worst was avoided. The wound, located on his hind leg, was just a couple of centimeters away from the tendons.

Thanks to a quick response, Barney was taken to the veterinary clinic, stitched up with precision, and is now resting while the injury heals. Since then, he’s been under daily care in his stall — antibiotics, fresh bandages, and constant monitoring.

The first few days of rest required some patience on his part — and a few treats as encouragement — but he’s adapting well to this quieter rhythm.

“Barney is recovering well. The sutures are clean, and the healing is progressing perfectly,” says Nicolas Hoffmann Hervé, attentive to every detail.

Another two to three weeks of stall rest should be enough for the wound to close completely, and then our brave pony will be free to rejoin his friends in the paddock.

Accidents are part of stable life, but they also remind us how much care, vigilance, and kindness lie at the heart of what we do every day. Stay strong, Barney — the whole team is rooting for you to be galloping again very soon!
